Upcoming Pakistani telefilm on 1971 war has a huge star cast

ARY Digital has started shooting of ‘Hangor S-131’

The shoot for telefilm Hangor S – 131 has just commenced, and the cast includes the best of Pakistan’s actors such as Saba Qamar, Zahid Ahmed, Affan Waheed, Durrefishan, Haris Waheed, Shehzad Sheikh and Javed Sheikh. The only submarine to have resulted in the destruction of warships post World War Two, Hangor, had a significant role to play in the war of 1971; the destruction of an Indian Navy ship and severe damage to another.

“Since Pakistan Navy celebrates Hangor Day on the December 9 every year, the telefilm will also probably go on air on the same date of the coming month on ARY Digital,” writer Saji Gul told Minute Mirror.

This ‘tale of a thrilling sea encounter’, as the channel puts it, has shared a teaser with the submarine afloat a stormy sea, the mere sight of which gives goosebumps to the viewers. It is yet to be seen how with the likes of amazing performers such as Saba Qamar, Zahid Ahmed and Javed Sheikh, more thrill is infused into this telefilm which has everyone already excited.

Hangor S – 131 has been written by Saji Gul and is being made under the banner of Idream Entertainment Productions. According to the writer, the film is being directed by Saqib Khan.
