US again rejects Imran Khan’s allegations regarding regime change

We’ll counter disinformation with information for significant relationship with Pakistan, Ned Price

The United States has again rejected the allegations levelled by former prime minister Imran Khan regarding the regime change narrative.

The US has said that it would counter disinformation with information so that the significant relationship between the two countries would not be harmed.

US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price has said, “What we can do is counter disinformation, misinformation with information.”

Addressing the daily news briefing in Washington, he said that the State Department had many times rejected the claims from this podium; further adding that there was no truth in those allegations.

Price said that propaganda, misinformation or disinformation will not be allowed to get in the way of the important Pak-US bilateral relationship including the valued bilateral partnership of the US with Pakistan.

Price was responding to the questions after his press briefing. He further said that the US always supported the peaceful holding of democratic and constitutional elections around the world.

He said, “We value that longstanding cooperation between the United States and Pakistan. We’ve always viewed a prosperous and democratic Pakistan as critical to our interests. That remains unchanged.”

Talking about Afghanistan, he said that the Taliban have made repeated assurances to the world that Afghan territory would not be allowed to be used by terrorists for threatening other countries. He said that US Special Representative for Afghanistan, Tom West, has discussed many issues including counterterrorism during talks with the Taliban in Doha.

He also said that the Taliban will have to earn the trust of the world through their actions especially after sheltering Ayman-al-Zawahiri.
