US Embassy Islamabad has published a congratulatory tweet for Lt. Gen. Asim Munir and Lt. Gen. Sahir Shamshad on their appointment as Chief of Army Staff and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee.
Embassy in a tweet expressed well wishes for newly appointed officers.
The tweet further added that we are committed to working with Pakistan’s elected leaders, its military leadership, and a diverse range of civil society partners to advance shared interests in trade & investment, health security, climate change, inclusive governance & regional security.
Yesterday Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif nominated Lt. Gen. Asim Munir as Chief of Army Staff and Lt.Gen. Sahir Shamshad Mirza as Chairman Chief of the Staff Committee.
After the approval of the summary from President Arif Alvi, the official Gazette was published which notified the appointment of COAS.
The gazette from the defence ministry also notified the appointment of Lt. Gen. Sahir Shamshad Mirza as CJCSC on November 27.
