Turkey Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu slammed the United States for threatening its ally Saudi Arabia after the OPEC+ decision of major production cuts and called it bullying.

As per the Al-Jazeera report, Foreign Minister Stated “We see that a country has threatened Saudi Arabia, especially recently. This bullying is not correct.”

He went on to say that Turkey does not assume it is appropriate for the US to pressurize Saudi Arabia or any other state in this manner.

Last week, OPEC+ declared that it would generate two million barrels of oil less per day beginning in November, reducing supply in a currently competitive industry despite the pressure from the US and other countries to increase output.

According to the United States, the step was made to boost oil prices, allowing Russia to pay for its war in Ukraine.

US President Joe Biden alleged Saudi Arabia of supporting Russia through this decision and warned KSA of the consequences of the decision on US-Saudi relations.

In response to this Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan stated that the OPEC+ decision was primarily economic and unanimously adopted by its member states.

Saudi Arabia’s Defence Minister, Prince Khalid bin Salman, recently said he was “astonished” by accusations that the kingdom was “standing with Russia in its war with Ukraine”.
