U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense for Strategy Mara Carlin says the U.S. will not wage wars for regime change in the Middle East, but will remain in the region.
Us Deputy Secretary of Defense for Strategy, Planning and Capability Mara Carlin explained the strategy, saying that under the new National Defense Policy, the United States is focusing on promoting alliances and partnerships with states rather than changing governments through military operations.
Speaking at the Middle East Institute in Washington, Us official Marie Carlin made it clear that under the new National Defense Strategy of the United States, it will consider cooperation with partnership to eliminate regional threats.
Highlighting another aspect, he said that one of the objectives of the new national defense strategy for the Middle East is to withdraw millions of American troops from the region, so this strategy has been described as a ‘paradigm shift’.
“That doesn’t mean there’s a reduction in America’s ambitions for the Middle East, the United States will remain in the region, that’s an important part of our strategy, from where our national security interests are intertwined,” he said.
