The Manchester Originals have acquired Usama Mir for the third season of The Hundred, a 100-ball cricket competition.
Usama Mir will now show off his all-around abilities for the Manchester Originals in The Hundred, the ICA stated on its Twitter account.
The final additions for the women’s competition as well as the men’s Vitality Wildcard picks have been made by all eight teams in The Hundred.
Usama Mir, one of the star performers during the initial three games of the 2023 Vitality Blast in England, was signed by Worcestershire Rapids earlier this year.
In those games, the 27-year-old cricketer, who was standing in for New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner who was on IPL duty, made an impression with both the bat and the ball.
Mir was re-signed by the Rapids as an international player, replacing Michael Bracewell, who missed six to eight months due to an Achilles injury.
The right-arm spinner kept up his impressive play, scoring 132 runs at an average of 44 and capturing 19 wickets overall at an average of 16 in the Vitality Blast 2023.
It is important to note that Welsh Fire, who had a terrible season the previous year, chose Shaheen Shah Afridi in the £100,000 category to improve their bowling unit.
