Uzbek President praises Turkiye chairmanship

Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev praised Türkiye’s chairmanship in the Organization of the Turkic States (OTS) during the summit.

In Samarkand, he addressed the organization’s top officials stating; “I would like to emphasize that over the past year, during Türkiye’s chairmanship in our organization significant and multifaceted work has been done and our cooperation has intensified even more.”

The Organization of Turkic States conference started on Friday, in Samarkand Uzbekistan.

The ceremony was attended by the presidents of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey, as well as the prime minister of Hungary and the leader of Turkmenistan’s upper house of parliament.

“A new era of Turkic civilization: On the route to joint progress and prosperity” had been set as the slogan for the summit.

The program for the meeting included discussions of foreign affairs and cooperative economic issues.

As the per report stated the Samarkand Declaration is expected to be approved as part of the event and Turkey will hand the chair over to Uzbekistan.

The Association of Turkic States a group of states was formed to foster increased collaboration between nations that speak the Turkish language in the areas of politics, economy, science, education, transportation, and tourism.

Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan make up the group’s members.

Whereas, Turkmenistan and Hungary were recognised as observers within the group.
