Veteran actor Qavi Khan passes away

Veteran actor Qavi Khan, who had a long career in both film and television, passed away at the age of 80. He was living with his son Adnan Qavi in Canada where he breathed his last. His death was verified by his son, Adnan Qavi Khan and said he was suffering from liver cancer۔

According to family sources, the funeral prayers of Qavi Khan will be offered today after the Zuhr prayer at the Jama Masjid in Mississauga, Canada. He will be buried at Medwell Cemetery in The City of Brampton, Canada.

Qavi Khan started his career with Radio Pakistan, he acted in numerous TV, radio, and stage dramas. He had done more than 200 films.

Qavi Khan was also awarded the Medal of Excellence in 1980, as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his artistic services.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed grief over the demise of renowned actor Muhammad Qavi Khan.

The Prime Minister prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased and patience for the family members and said that Qavi Khan proved his art on film, TV, stage, and radio.

He further said that Qavi Khan’s acting in “Lakhon mein teen” and “Andhera Ujala” are still alive in the minds of the people, and losing Qavi is an irreparable loss to the art sector of Pakistan.

Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi also expressed grief over the demise of actor Qavi Khan. He said that with the death of Qavi Khan, the era of acting ended, adding, “Qavi gave a new dimension to TV dramas with his versatile acting.”

Punjab Information Minister Amir Mir condoled the death of actor Qavi Khan and said that Qavi Khan was an omnipresent personality and a great artist and his void can never be fulfill.
