Veteran actress Saba Hamid took to her Instagram on April 8 to share a photo along with director Nadeem Baig, with a caption which said ‘with my director’.
The caption caught the attention of many, inclining some to think why an actress as senior as Saba Hamid would call Nadeem Baig her director, someone who has just recently started giving hits to the Pakistani drama and film industry. Very few people know that Nadeem Baig started his career as a director with one of the most popular Pakistani drama serials, ‘Family Front’, one of the most significant characters of which was played by Saba Hamid and one which is remembered to date as being Hamid’s most influential role.
The work chemistry of the two didn’t end there, but Nadeem Baig continued to rope in Saba Hamid for several proceeding projects of his, such as ‘Azar Ki Ayegi Barat’, ‘Dolly Ki Ayegi Barat’, ‘Takay Ki Ayegi Barat’ and ‘Annie Ki Ayegi Barat’; four serials from the famous ‘Barat’ series which became a trailblazer in the genre of Ramadan rom-coms. Even when Nadeem Baig shifted his focus towards Khalil-ur-Rehman scripts, most of which he directed under the banner of Humayun Saeed’s production house, Saba Hamid was there, be it drama serials ‘Manjali’ and ‘Pyare Afzal’ or the film ‘Punjab Nahi Jaungi’.
Currently, Saba Hamid is working under the direction of Nadeem Baig in the star-studded serial ‘Sinf-e-Aahan’.
