Veteran nationalist Dr Abdul Hai Baloch dies in car crash

Senior politician and prominent Baloch nationalist leader Dr Abdul Hai Baloch died in a car accident on Friday.

The accident took place near Jalalpur Pirwala Interchange on M5 Motorway near Lodhran, where his car collided with a trailer.

According to rescue sources, the concerned teams rushed to the spot as soon as the accident was reported, and immediately shifted three people in the car to the tehsil headquarters hospital, where the 60-year-old Baloch nationalist leader succumbed to his injuries.

According to hospital sources, the two injured in the accident were identified as 35-year-old Sohail and 35-year-old Abdul Shakoor. The injured are from Khanpur tehsil of Rahim Yar Khan.

The accident took place when Dr Abdul Hai Baloch was on his way to Bahawalpur from Faisalabad.

Mukhtiar Ahmed, a student of Islamia University Bahawalpur, told MinuteMirror that he had received the body of the veteran leader and sent to his hometown.

A statement was issued from Dr Asia Jabeen, deputy medical superintendent of Lodhran DHQ, about the incident. According to the statement, Dr Abdul Hai Baloch was received dead by Rescue 1122.

“The dead body of Abdul Hai Baloch was received by Mukhtiar Baloch, student of the IUB Bahawalpur.”

She said in the statement that two other injured passengers were received with minor injuries.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has expressed grief over the death of senior politician Dr Abdul Hai Baloch. In his condolence message, the CM extended sympathies to the bereaved family and expressed shocked at the sudden death of Dr Abdul Hai Baloch. He also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

Former Balochistan chief minister Dr Abdul Malik also expressed grief over the demise of his former colleague.

He called it an irreparable loss to the Baloch nationalist movement.
