Wahab Riaz’s aggressive batting sends Central Punjab into semis

Home City Central Punjab has made it to the semi-finals of the National T20. Central Punjab defeated Balochistan by 3 wickets in the 28th match of the tournament to make it to the semi-finals of the tournament.

Balochistan team was eliminated from the final four of the tournament.

Wahab Riaz’s lightning-fast innings of 28 off 9 balls helped Central Punjab reach the target of 163 runs 11 balls earlier. In the 18th over of the innings, he hit three sixes in a row to Emad Butt to turn the match around.

Central Punjab’s start in pursuit of the desired target was not very impressive. Apart from Mohammad Akhlaq, no batsman from Central Punjab was able to forge a long partnership. Opener Mohammad Akhlaq scored 32 runs.

Opener Abdullah Shafiq played an innings of 60 runs with 4 sixes and 3 fours. He was not supported by any batsman except Emad Butt, who came in to bat at number seven. Emad Butt played an unbeaten innings of 43 off 27 balls with 3 sixes and 2 fours.

Apart from these two, Ameed Asif was the third batsman to enter the double figures of Balochistan. He scored 15 off 5 balls and was dismissed on the last ball of the innings.

Samin Gul took 3 wickets for 20 runs. Muhammad Faizan took two wickets while Qasim Akram and Ahmed Safi Abdullah took one wicket each.

Samin Gul of Central Punjab was declared Player of the Match. After the 28th match of the tournament, the number of points of Northern and Central Punjab has increased to 12, 12. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh are third and fourth with 10 and 10 points respectively. Balochistan is fifth in the points table and Southern Punjab is sixth.
