Walled City of Lahore to present live performances based on Sahir Ludhianvi’s works

Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) is bringing a literary evening for Lahoris to celebrate the works of Indian poet, Sahir Ludhianvi. Written and directed by Badar Khan, the event is named Adaab! Mein Sahir Hoon and it will bring forth untold stories from Ludhianvi’s life through live performances on songs penned by the famous poet.

According to the director, the event will be styled upon the Subcontinental way of storytelling, usually referred to as Dastaan Goyi, which narrates stories by incorporating various forms of art.

Adaab! Mein Sahir Hoon will be held on November 5 at 7:30 in the evening. The two-hour long event will take place at Royal Kitchens, Lahore Fort after which the audiences will also be served dinner.

As per the details given by the WCLA, it’s going to be a ticketed event, the passes being available at 54 Lawrence Road, Imdad Bilqees Building, where the authority’s head office is located.

The evening is sure to be a success, as it is going to be a well-researched event, considering that hitherto untold facts about the venerated poet will be brought before the audience. Ludhianvi may be an Indian poet but his wonderful poetry and its incorporation in films in the form of songs has bewitched the Indian and Pakistani literati and music connoisseurs alike.
