Which party leader’s departure made Imran Khan sad?

PTI Chairman Imran Khan has expressed his sadness over the departure of several key figures from the party, including Shireen Mazari, Fawad Chaudhry, Asad Umar, Imran Ismail, Ali Zaidi, and Aamir Kayani. Khan stated that he is disheartened by their decision to leave. When asked about the possibility of their return, Khan mentioned that any decision regarding their rejoining would be taken on an individual basis.

Addressing rumors, Imran Khan clarified that he was not offered the option to leave the country, and even if such an offer were made, he would decline it. Responding to a query about his nephew waving military trousers at the Corps Commander’s house, Khan claimed to be unaware of the incident. If the act did occur, he condemned it, deeming it inappropriate.

Furthermore, Imran Khan denied reports suggesting he had met any influential figures during his detention in Islamabad. TV anchors who recently met Khan expressed confidence in him and believed that the situation might change in the coming days. Khan maintained his optimism, expressing hope for a favorable turn of events.

However, he acknowledged the uncertainty of the situation and emphasized the need to be prepared for any outcome. Imran Khan shared his belief that powerful circles had decided to marginalize him, and he may face disqualification, imprisonment, or even a ban from the party, drawing a parallel with the treatment meted out to Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

Imran Khan revealed that in the event of his disqualification, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the most senior member after him in the Tehreek-e-Insaf, would take over the party. Khan acknowledged that he had made efforts to bridge differences with the establishment and President Arif Alvi, but communication had dwindled. He also expressed that negotiations with politicians were not a priority as he deemed them unimportant.

Regarding upcoming elections, Khan voiced skepticism about the likelihood of holding them in October. However, he expressed confidence that in fair and transparent elections, he would emerge victorious due to increased public awareness through social media. Khan believed that the departure of party leaders would not significantly impact PTI, as their voter base was growing while the PDM’s was diminishing.

Imran Khan also noted that temporary fear of reprisals could not suppress people indefinitely, and when pushed beyond their limits, individuals would find their voice and stand up for their rights.
