Why did Nadia Khan reject Shoaib Mansoor’s ‘Bol’?

How is it possible for a superstar like Nadia Khan to reject an offer for a feature film offered by the indefatigable Shoaib Mansoor, also promising co-stars like Mahira Khan, Manzar Sehbai, Zaib Rehman, Atif Aslam and Iman Ali and music by the likes of Sajjad Ali and Hadiqa Kiani?

The ‘Bandhan’ fame actress and popular morning show host did reject the offer. The reason remained hidden for almost a decade after the film got released, but it was recently that Nadia Khan shared some details regarding the film and the role which she was offered in it.

In one of her interviews, she told that the role which Humaima Malick performed in ‘Bol’ was first offered to her. Not only this, but director Shoaib Mansoor actually conceived the character with Nadia Khan in his mind and then took the script to her once he finalized the script.

“It was written for me,” told the actress, and also said that the reason why she didn’t accept the offer was her former husband, who didn’t allow her to work in the film despite being told that there were no inappropriate sequences or vulgar dances in it. The husband remained adamant, and Nadia Khan had to let go of the opportunity.

It is no wonder why Khan chose to keep herself distant from drama serials until her separation, after which she made a comeback into the industry with the Sonya Hussein starrer ‘Aisi Hai Tanhai’, followed by ‘Kaisi Aurat Hoon Mein’, in which she played an emotionally abused working woman opposite Faisal Rehman.
