Why did Twitter start ‘Verified Organizations’? explains Elon Musk

Elon Musk has stated that it was crucial to determine whether a user on Twitter genuinely belongs to the organization they claim to be a part of.

Musk reacted to a post from Twitter Verified that described the function of “Verified Organizations” on the social media platform.

“Verified Organizations is a new way for organizations and their affiliates to distinguish themselves on Twitter. Rather than relying on Twitter to be the sole arbiter of truth for which accounts should be verified, vetted organizations that sign up for Verified Organizations are in full control of vetting and verifying accounts they’re affiliated with,” said the tweet.

As per reports, users who affiliated with a corporation will display the organization’s emblem and an affiliate badge on their profiles. Also, they will be highlighted on the organization’s Twitter page, indicating their association.

“All organizations are vetted before they can join Verified Organizations,” added the tweet.

Also, it mentioned how businesses like sports teams, journalistic organizations, financial institutions, Fortune 500 companies, and nonprofits joined Twitter’s Verified Organizations program and listed their affiliated accounts openly on their profiles.
