Wisden names Rizwan, Shadab, Haris in T20I team of 2022

The Wisden men’s T20I team of the year 2022 includes batter Mohammad Rizwan, all-rounder Shadab Khan, and speedster Haris Rauf.

A combined global team for the men’s T20Is was selected by Wisden, a respected cricket newspaper, and it included players who had an incredible year in the shortest format.

Pakistan’s opening batter Rizwan, along with Shadab and Rauf, was included in the team of the year since they all had a respectable year in the T20Is.

The combined XI includes Jos Buttler (England), Suryakumar Yadav (India), Glenn Phillips (New Zealand), David Miller (South Africa), Sikandar Raza (Zimbabwe), Sam Curran (England), Adil Rashid (England), and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (India) in addition to Rizwan, Shadab, and Rauf.

The second-ranked T20I batter Rizwan had another outstanding season with the bat, scoring 996 runs in 25 matches at a mind-boggling average of 45.26. He was selected as the opener with England’s Buttler.

The right-handed batter scored five times over 70 in 2022, including an important run against New Zealand in the T20 World Cup semifinal.

Shadab, on the other hand, defended his side when it mattered most and turned in some game-changing efforts with both bat and ball.

The all-rounder had a stellar economy rate of just 6.79 in 20 T20Is and scored 201 runs while taking 25 wickets at a strike rate of 20.56.

Haris gave the team multiple game-winning performances throughout the year and made a name for himself as a death bowling expert, concluding 2022 as Pakistan’s top T20I wicket-taker.

The right-arm bowler took eight wickets in both the home T20I series against England and the T20 World Cup 2022, taking 31 wickets in 23 games at a 20.74 average.
