A woman was gang-raped by two men in front of her husband at their home in Defense-C police limits on Monday.

The victim was identified as [S], who was at her home with her husband. Two suspects trespassed into her house and raped her at gunpoint, said the complainant’s husband, a resident of Moqeem Baowala Bazar in the Defense-C area. He said they had been living in the rented house for quite some time and the suspects gang-raped his wife in front of his eyes. “One of the suspects is Yousuf while his accomplice was an unknown person,” he said, pointing out that they were armed and subjected him to torture.

The victim also said that it was around 3:00 am when they entered the house by jumping the wall. “Later, they dragged me to a nearby street and beat me,” he further said. He asked the police to register an FIR against the suspects and take stern action against them under the law. The Defense-C area police registered the FIR under Section 375A of Pakistan Penal Code, 1860 on his complaint and nominated one suspect, namely Yousaf, who mentioned the other one as unknown and started an investigation of the matter.

“We have arrested one of the suspects,” said Cantt Division SP Esa Sukhera, adding that police have been conducting raids to arrest the other suspect. “A police team is conducting raids at different places to arrest another suspect and he will soon be behind the bars,” he further said. Last week, a woman was allegedly gang-raped by two policemen in Chung police precincts. Police had registered an FIR on the complaint of the victim woman, who was living with her aunt in the Thokar Niaz Baig area. The police conducted raids and arrested all three suspects. Another horrific incident also took place the same week in which three men allegedly gang-raped a minor boy in Batapur police limits.
