Zaka Ashraf, the Head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, has called for a meeting with the members of the committee in Karachi in an urgent attempt to secure his role.
The Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) had penned a letter to the Interim Prime Minister requesting the removal of Zaka Ashraf from his position, citing concerns of political favoritism in his appointment.
The scheduled PCB Management Committee meeting is slated to take place on Sunday at a Karachi hotel, with all members mandated to be in attendance.
Zaka Ashraf has previously held the post of PCB chairman, and his tenure has been marked by power struggles, notably against Najam Sethi.
Former Pakistani cricket captain Shahid Afridi recently commented on the flurry of changes in PCB shortly before the World Cup, expressing his incredulity at the timing of these alterations.
In the span of less than a year, the PCB has seen a change in leadership, transitioning from Ramiz Raja to Najam Sethi as the Head of the Management Committee.
