The Lahore High Court (LHC) has granted interim bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in the Zille Shah murder case.

Justice Anwar-ul-Haq Pannu heard the bail plea of PTI chief in a case related to concealment of facts and evidence related to the death of PTI activist Zille Shah in a road accident.

The court asked the public prosecutors to tell the relation to the First Information Report (FIR) with the accused?

“Leave the question of who is the accused, just see if his bail can be cancelled,” the court asked the public prosecutors. After hearing the arguments, the court confirmed the interim bail of PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

On June 2, the Lahore High Court had extended the interim bail of Imran Khan till June 6 in the Zille Shah murder case.

In March, Imran Khan was booked for concealing facts in the Zille Shah murder case. On March 8, during the PTI rally in Lahore, the police cracked down on the violation of Section 144, during which PTI worker Ali Bilal aka Zille Shah was killed.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan took to Twitter to allege that party worker Ali Bilal (Zille Shah) was “murdered by Punjab Police” after announcing the cancellation of a scheduled rally from Zaman Park to Data Darbar in Lahore.

Taking notice of the incident, the Punjab Chief Minister ordered a completely impartial and factual inquiry.
