Iceland: A private company has stirred controversy by offering a reward for not using a mobile phone for one month.
According to reports, an Icelandic dairy product brand (Síga) under its “Digital Detox Program” has proposed to reward 10 fortunate individuals who refrain from using a mobile phone for a month with $10,000.
The selected participants will securely store their smartphones in a provided box and live without a mobile phone for one month. Upon successfully completing the challenge, they will be rewarded with $10,000.
The company stated on its website that they challenge you to leave your smartphone. They believe in the power of living a simple life with minimal dependence on technology.
The company expressed in a statement on its website that today, the biggest addiction in our lives is our phones. In reality, an average person spends about four to five hours on their phone every day.
