37 million children aged 13 to 15 worldwide found using tobacco

Geneva: The World Health Organization (WHO) has revealed that 37 million children aged 13 to 15 around the world are using tobacco.

The WHO has released a report on tobacco use which indicates that the tobacco industry is using fruit flavors to addict children to nicotine.

The WHO Director-General stated that the tobacco industry is targeting schools to get children hooked on nicotine describing this practice as one of the gravest offenses.

According to the WHO report, electronic cigarettes are being sold in 16,000 flavors. The report calls for the strictest regulations to prevent children from becoming addicted to tobacco and to ban flavored electronic cigarettes.

The WHO has also urged raising awareness among children about the deceptive campaigns of the tobacco industry.
