7 out of 24 hospitals partially functioning in North Gaza, reports WHO

The World Health Organization reports that seven out of 24 hospitals in northern Gaza are only “partially functioning” due to shortages in personnel and supplies.

These medical facilities lack specialized staff, essential medicines, medical supplies, fuel, clean water, and food for both patients and staff, according to a WHO statement.

Al-Shifa Hospital received 19,000 liters of fuel on Tuesday, although the delivery faced delays at checkpoints and encountered severely damaged roads.

Despite challenges, essential services such as basic laboratory and radiological facilities, emergency care, a surgical unit with three operation theaters, post-operative care, and a dialysis unit remain operational. However, the hospital’s primary oxygen plant has been destroyed.
