US Congressman Andy Levin has said that India is in danger of becoming a Hindu nationalist state instead of a secular democracy.

According to international media reports, Andy stated that it has become a need of time to defend other sects in India like Muslim, Hindu, Christian, etc.

He further said that Kashmir is not in the news, but it is an example of how Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking India on the wrong track in terms of human rights and democracy.

India had been making highlighted on international platforms for its violation of human rights.

Earlier in November, the U. S. Commission for International Religious Freedom alleged in India of violation of religious freedom and related human rights.

Early this year, USCIRF recommended that the U.S. Department of State identify India as a country of particular concern under the International Religious Freedom Act due to systematic, ongoing, and egregious breaches of religious freedom that had been committed there or tolerated there.
