Punjab’s woman MPA announces not to vote Elahi

Syeda Zahra Naqvi, a member of the Punjab Assembly, has announced that she will not give a vote of confidence to Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen (MWM) leader Syeda Zahra Naqvi was elected member of the Punjab Assembly in 2018 on a reserved seat for women on behalf of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

According to MWM spokesman Mazahir Shigri, Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen had serious reservations over some of the steps taken by Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi.

The spokesman said that the decision not to give a vote of confidence to Pervez Elahi was taken by the MWM Political Council after consultation.
