A curious case of police postings in Faisalabad

Residents urge IG to chalk out comprehensive policy to post seniors

Residents of Faisalabad have asked Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and Punjab Police Inspector General (IG) Rao Sardar Ali Khan to chalk out and implement a comprehensive policy to post senior police officers to check the soaring crime rate in the district.

According to sources, there are 16 deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) and two superintendents of police (SPs).

DSP Civil Line Circle Ata-ur-Rehman, DSP Kotwali Circle Usman Warraich had been posted thrice in Faisalabad. Similarly, DSP Gulberg Circle Saleem Haider Shah and DSP Jaranwala Jamshed Chishti are currently enjoying their third stint.

Sources said that if a DSP was transferred to another city, he used his influence, and after a short time he was re-posted to Faisalabad, putting a big question mark on the deployment policy of Punjab Police.

DSP Batala Colony Circle Bilal Mansoor and DSP People’s Colony Tauseef Khan had assumed their duty soon after their promotion. Both of them had already been serving in the city.

DSP Mian Khalid and DSP Investigation Azeem Bhatti had been posted at Circle Khurrianwala on the outskirts of the city for a third time. Similarly, DSPs Rehman Qadir, Zahida Parveen and Hafiz Mehtada had been posted in Faisalabad several times.

ADIG Kashif Riaz and DSP Factory Area had also served earlier for a couple of times in Faisalabad.

In Faisalabad, a police division was formed according to the number of towns and now SP Naeem Aziz Sindhu has been posted in Faisalabad for a third time.

SP Sadr Abdul Latif is also enjoying his second stint in Faisalabad.
