Abu Aleeha announces second film after winning at UK Asian Film Festival

‘Javed Iqbal’ getting banned in Pakistan was definitely a setback for director Ali Sajjad Shah, also known as Abu Aleeha. However, after winning the best director award at UK Asian Film Festival, he seems to have gathered a whole new energy. Only two days after the announcement of the award, Abu Aleeha unveiled the official poster of his second film, ‘Shot Cut’, and also announced its release date.

Although it was already known that Abu Aleeha is working on a Punjabi comedy film, an official poster of it was not released until now, which happens to be quite a colourful poster showing the likes of Juggun Kazim, Mirza Gohar Rasheed, Sana Fakhar, Qaiser Piya, Nasim Vicky, Sakhawat Naz, Nawaz Anjum and Goshi Khan. To the surprise of many, the film boasts of a unique set of cast, with drama actors and veteran artists of Punjabi theatre making it together on screen.

The director himself has been observed saying that this Punjabi comedy film of his is targeted at a specific audience. The viewers of Punjab will be catered to this time, after an Urdu language film which has garnered worldwide admiration.

‘Shot Cut’ is set to release on the coming Eid-ul-Azha under the banner of KK Films, and happens to be a combined production of Javed Ahmed Kakepoto and Faheem Samejo, made under the banner of KK Films.
