Acting president Gilani calls for people-centric upcoming budget

Acting President Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani emphasized the necessity of a people-friendly budget, highlighting that the nation’s economic prosperity is intrinsically linked to political stability.

Addressing a gathering of Parliamentarians, Members of the Provincial Assembly, and prominent political figures from Multan, Gilani remarked, “Without economic stability, the condition of the people cannot be improved.” He stressed the importance of uniting all stakeholders to resolve national issues collaboratively.

Gilani pledged to engage with both federal and provincial governments to ensure the completion of critical developmental projects in Multan. These include the issuance of a notification recognizing Multan as a “Big City” and the completion of the under-construction ring road project. He reaffirmed his dedication to prioritizing public service, ensuring that these projects benefit the local population.

The Acting President also highlighted the significant impact of the Benazir Income Support Program in Southern Punjab and advocated for its expansion. He noted that discussions with the Prime Minister had already commenced to enhance facilities for education, health, and transportation in the region. “We must continue to provide and improve essential services to uplift our communities,” he stated.
