Ahsan Iqbal calls for uplifting livestock sector

Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the imperative of enhancing the livestock sector during remarks made in Islamabad on Saturday.

Recognizing the vital role of veterinary sciences in national development, Iqbal underscored the importance of addressing challenges encountered by veterinary students.

He praised the livestock industries of countries like New Zealand and Norway, questioning why Pakistan’s dairy and poultry products do not meet similar quality standards.

Highlighting the potential for growth, Iqbal emphasized the need to boost production in the poultry, dairy, and agricultural sectors.

Additionally, Iqbal announced that the Higher Education Commission has been tasked with conducting a performance audit of educational institutions.

In a separate development, Iqbal reaffirmed his commitment to completing provincial projects through a sharing formula during a recent meeting.

Discussions revolved around ongoing and new projects of the National Highway Authority aligned with the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

Iqbal emphasized the importance of removing obstacles to expedite the completion of pending projects and stressed the need to prioritize ongoing projects in Balochistan under the PSDP.
