Avengers: Chris Evans returning as Captain America for Secret Wars?

Reportedly, Marvel Studios has enlisted Chris Evans, known for his portrayal of Captain America in previous Avengers films, for the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars.

According to Screen Rant, citing MyTimeToShineHello, Evans has already inked his contract for the project.

However, details regarding Evans’ role remain undisclosed, sparking speculation among fans about whether he will reprise his original MCU Captain America character or take on a variant role.

Previous reports hinted at Evans making a cameo as the Human Torch in Deadpool and Wolverine, fueling rumors of his return as the Fantastic Four character in Avengers: Secret Wars.

Avengers: Endgame marked the conclusion of several character arcs, including those of Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, along with Evans’ Captain America.

The film depicted the Avengers’ efforts to retrieve the Infinity Stones from the past to undo Thanos’ actions, resulting in sacrifices made by Black Widow and Iron Man.

Captain America’s storyline saw him returning the Infinity Stones and choosing to live out his life in the past, reappearing as an elderly man in the present.

Earlier speculations suggested that Avengers: Secret Wars would feature actors from pre-MCU Marvel films, potentially including Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man.
