It is after many years that Ayesha Omar and Azfar Rehman are re-uniting for a HUM TV serial titled “Bisaat”. While a lovable cast working under MD Productions promises that it will be something to look forward to, we are also reminded of some beautiful serials Ayesha Omar and Azfar Rehman did together in the past which made the couple popular. One of them was “Kaisa Yeh Junoon”, a mega-production, written by the ace writer Haseena Moin and starring popular Indian actress, Kiran Kher. The serial was based on important contemporary issues like terrorism and religious extremism, shot partly in Pakistan and partly in the UK. Then followed “Roza Kay Rozay”, a Ramadan sitcom that starred both Omar and Rehman in the leading roles, trying to adjust to the Ramadan lifestyle of Pakistanis after spending some time abroad. These were the days of Pakistani drama industry’s revival after almost a decade of poor productions, and both the stars contributed well to it by going for meaningful telefilms and serials.
While Azfar Rehman continued to frequently appear on the screen, Ayesha Omar gradually grew very selective about her dramatic projects. That she has gone for “Bisaat” is a proof that the serial is definitely going to be worth-watching. Besides, almost all the serials which Azfar Rehman and Ayesha Omar have done together have won the hearts of the viewers. It is for this very reason that people are keenly looking forward to this serial directed by Fahim Burney, who is also a well-known name in the field of direction, with hits like “Noor Bano”, “Aadhi Gawahi”, “Tumhari Natasha” and “Kaisi Aurat Hoon Mein” to his name.
