Bilawal to address rally at historic Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi, on January 28

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has announced its plan to hold an election rally at Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh, marking the first event of this nature since 2007. This location carries historical weight, serving as the tragic site where former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was assassinated after a successful rally.

Scheduled for January 28, Bilawal Bhutto will take the stage to address the rally at Liaquat Bagh.

During a press conference at Rawalpindi Press Club, PPP Secretary General Nayyer Hussain Bukhari disclosed that Benazir Bhutto had led the last election rally at Liaquat Bagh in 2007. Emphasizing the party’s commitment to timely elections, Bukhari stated that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would lead the rally on January 28. He asserted PPP’s dedication to forming the next government with a PPP prime minister.

Anticipating a lack of a clear majority for any single party, Bukhari predicted the emergence of a substantial number of independent candidates post-election. He highlighted Bilawal’s inclusive approach by extending an open invitation to all such candidates to join the PPP.

In a significant move, the People’s Party has announced the revival of election rallies at Liaquat Bagh for the first time since 2007.
