Birth anniversary of renowned TV host Tariq Aziz today

Today, on Sunday, we commemorate the birth anniversary of the esteemed Tariq Aziz, a multifaceted individual known for his roles as a Radio and Television host, film star, poet, and writer.

Born on April 28, 1936, in Jalandhar, his family migrated to Pakistan after partition, settling in Sahiwal.

Aziz began his career with Radio Pakistan in the 1960s, later becoming Pakistan’s inaugural television host.

He gained widespread recognition for his iconic program Neelam Ghar, which debuted in 1974 and was subsequently renamed the Tariq Aziz Show, captivating audiences for four decades.

Additionally, Aziz showcased his talent in several films, including Chiragh Kahan Roshni Kahan, Salgirah, Qasam Us Waqt Ki, Katari, Haar Gaya Insan, and Insaniyat.

In acknowledgment of his contributions to the entertainment industry, he was honored with the Pride of Performance Award by the Government of Pakistan in 1994.

Aziz’s passing in Lahore on June 17, 2020, at the age of 84, due to cardiac arrest, marked the end of an era, leaving behind a legacy that continues to be celebrated.
