Champions Trophy 2025: PCB proposes ‘least travelling plan’ for Indian team

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has strategically suggested reducing travel for the Indian cricket team during their visit to Pakistan for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

According to the proposal, the PCB recommends hosting all group matches involving the Indian team in a single city.

Last week, the PCB submitted a draft schedule of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 to the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The proposed schedule outlines matches for all eight participating teams, scheduled to take place at three venues in Pakistan Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.

Sources close to the matter informed Geo News that the PCB’s proposal aims to streamline logistical operations.

Lahore is the likely city to host all of India’s group matches, although a final decision will be made after the ICC receives feedback from the participating boards on the draft schedule.

It remains uncertain whether the Indian team will tour Pakistan for the event.

A source from India stated that any decision regarding the tour would be premature at this stage.

“The decision on touring Pakistan will depend on the proposed tour and the approval of the Indian government.

We will have a clearer understanding of the Indian government’s stance on relations with Pakistan later this year,” the source explained.

Despite the ongoing uncertainties, the PCB remains optimistic about the participation of all teams, including India, in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and the board continues its preparations accordingly.
