China sending new mission to dark side of moon

PS:Dunya News

China is gearing up to launch a new mission to the dark side of the moon. Dubbed Chang’e 6, this mission marks a pivotal moment as it sets the stage for future endeavours including the construction of a base at the lunar south pole and paving the way for China’s first manned lunar mission. Scheduled for launch on May 3rd, the mission will also include a satellite from Pakistan.

Overall, the mission aims to carry payloads from Pakistan, the European Space Agency, France and Italy to the moon’s surface with the primary objective of deploying Pakistan’s CubeSat named ‘Moni HCR’ into lunar orbit. Chang’e 6 will venture into the dark side of the moon collect samples and return them to Earth marking the first-ever retrieval of samples from this enigmatic region.

This milestone mission not only signifies China’s technological prowess but also represents a collaborative effort in space exploration. Unlike previous missions conducted by the United States, Soviet Union and China which collected samples from near the lunar surface, Chang’e 6 will explore the uncharted territories of the moon’s polar regions.

The lunar south pole has captured the interest of scientists due to its unique features including vast icy expenses that could hold valuable insights into the moon’s geological history and potential resources. By venturing into this unexplored territory, Chang’e 6 aims to unravel the mysteries hidden within the lunar south pole and contribute to our understanding of the moon’s formation and evolution.

Following Chang’e 6, China plans to launch Chang’e 7, a robotic mission tasked with exploring the lunar south pole region further. This mission will focus on studying the region’s geological features, investigating lunar ice deposits and assessing environmental conditions to pave the way for future lunar habitation.

Ultimately, the Chang’e program culminates with Chang’e 8 which aims to establish a research station on the lunar surface. This ambitious endeavour underscores China’s commitment to space exploration and its aspiration to become a leading player in lunar research and development.

China’s upcoming mission to the dark side of the moon represents a significant milestone in lunar exploration. As humanity ventures into uncharted territories, we are poised to unravel the secrets of the moon and unlock the potential for future lunar exploration and habitation. With each mission, we inch closer to realizing our dreams of exploring worlds beyond our own and expanding the boundaries of human knowledge and discovery.
