CM Gandapur announces joint plan with centre to end load shedding in KP

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced on Monday that an effective action plan has been devised in collaboration with the federal government to eliminate the persistent issue of load shedding in the province.

During a press conference with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Federal Minister for Energy Owais Leghari, CM Gandapur acknowledged the severe impact of load shedding on the people of KP.

“We are proud that our province produces electricity, but load shedding remains a major issue,” said Gandapur. “We have developed a joint solution and will work together to tackle this problem.”

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of collaboration among institutions and revealed plans to promote solar energy.

“We aim to transition our people to solar power, alleviating the burden of load shedding,” he added.

Furthermore, Energy Minister Owais Leghari stressed the significance of setting aside political differences to address the issue.

“Despite our varied political agendas, we have come together to find a solution,” he said.

“The Interior Minister was instrumental in facilitating this meeting, and we have created a model to reduce electricity theft,” says Leghari.

This model, initially implemented in KP, will be replicated in other provinces to improve electricity management and reduce theft.

“Today, PTI, PML-N, and other parties have taken a significant step towards better conditions for the country,” Leghari stated.

Chief Minister Gandapur also discussed the law and order issues exacerbated by load shedding. “We have devised a way to provide relief to our people and will work together to address the causes of line losses,” he said.

Federal Minister Leghari highlighted the initiative as a testament to Pakistani politicians’ ability to collaborate beyond political divides.

He expressed hope that this model would be applied in other provinces to combat electricity theft and reduce line losses.

Additionally, the Chief Minister announced a community-based program to educate lawmakers and the public on eliminating load shedding through fair financial recovery.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the joint effort, noting that both federal and provincial governments had embarked on this initiative with a positive intent to address a common national problem.
