COAS spends Defence Day in flood-hit Balochistan

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa spent the entire Defence and Martyrs Day visiting far-flung flood-hit areas of Balochistan. On arrival, the COAS visited army flood relief camp at Usta Muhammad, Jaffarabad district where he was briefed on the ongoing rescue and relief operations, the military’s media wing said in a statement. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS met the troops and appreciated their efforts. He visited flood relief and medical camps and spent time with the locals to have on-ground information about plans to mitigate their problems. Gen Bajwa also met local elders in Sui area and inquired about their wellbeing and issues they had been facing. The elders thanked the COAS for reaching out to them in the most difficult time of their lives. Later, the COAS visited Military College Sui where he was briefed on different training and educational facilities. He interacted with the faculty and students and appreciated the educational and training standards of the institution. The faculty and students thanked the Pakistan Army for giving them an opportunity to compete at the national level. It is pertinent to mention here that the Military College Sui was established in 2011 and its cadets have shown extraordinary results.
