Court rejects plea against illegal marriage case

The District and Sessions Court, in a recent development, has rejected the plea that sought the registration of a case against witnesses involved in an alleged illegal marriage.

The dismissed plea specifically targeted Mufti Saeed, Khawar Manika, and Awn Chaudhry.

This decision was made by Additional Sessions Judge Abdul Ghafoor Kakar, who dismissed the application filed under 22 A. The petitioner, Waseem, had submitted this application in an attempt to initiate the registration of the case.

It’s crucial to highlight that on January 16, charges were formally filed against Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), along with Bushra Bibi, in connection with the alleged illegal marriage.

The legal proceedings related to the illegal marriage case involving the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi took place at Adiala Jail.

Senior Civil Judge Qudratullah read out the indictment in the courtroom, and notably, Imran Khan was present during this phase of the proceedings.
