DRAP recalls “SN Zor” medicine from market

Drug Regulatory Authority Pakistan (DRAP) has issued a recall notice for a substandard medicine used to treat bacterial infections.

The product in question is the “SN Zor 200mg/5mL suspension for oral use,” with Batch No. 342, manufactured by S.N.B Pharma (Pvt) Ltd. Peshawar. The Federal Government Analyst, CDL Karachi, has declared this batch substandard due to non-compliance with assay standards.

Using substandard oral suspension powder with low assay levels may lead to suboptimal effects and therapeutic failure.

The Secretary of the Provincial Quality Control Board Baluchistan has instructed the manufacturer to immediately withdraw the defective batch from the market. Pharmacists and chemists are urged to check their stocks and halt the supply of this batch.

DRAP has directed authorities to quarantine and return the remaining stock to the supplier/company. Increased surveillance in the market by regulatory field forces from DRAP, Provincial Health Departments, and other relevant bodies aims to ensure the effective recall of the faulty product.

Consumers are warned to cease using products bearing the affected batch number(s). They are advised to consult their physician or healthcare provider if they have encountered any issues possibly linked to the use of this product.
