Drug advisory issued to safe youth from drug abuse in Eid holidays

Lahore: With the holiday season and free time potentially leading young people toward drug use, a drug advisory has been issued to prevent substance abuse during the Eid holidays.

The Drug Advisory Training Hub has issued an advisory concerning the use of drugs in farmhouses, tea houses, homes and secret parties during the Eid holidays to protect young people from substance abuse.

Sources indicate that drug use increases by 20% during Eid holidays each year. Secret Eid parties often see a rise in the use of drugs such as ice and other substances with the risk of overdose and potentially fatal consequences.

Anti-drug campaign consultant Syed Zulfiqar Hussain issued the advisory noting that new friends at secret parties often indulge in drugs hastily and out of curiosity. The use of adulterated and chemical-laden drugs can be particularly dangerous and life-threatening.

Syed Zulfiqar Hussain emphasized the need for parents to closely monitor their children to protect them from the scourge of drugs and its severe consequences.
