The Election Commission has taken swift action by removing Returning Officer Rana Sajjad Mehmood from his position.
The decision came after Mehmood’s active participation in a political rally organized by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Kasur.
The Election Commission, emphasizing the importance of maintaining impartiality and neutrality in the electoral process, found Mehmood’s involvement in a political rally to be a breach of the code of conduct for election officials.
