England beat Pakistan by 23 runs in second T20I

England defeated Pakistan by 23 runs in the second T20 international match at Edgbaston, led by skipper Jos Buttler’s impressive 84 runs.

Despite Pakistan winning the toss and choosing to field, Buttler capitalized on the favorable batting conditions, scoring 84 runs off 51 balls, with eight fours and three sixes.

Buttler showcased his trademark scoop shot, reaching his fifty by guiding a yorker from Haris Rauf over fine leg.

With support from Will Jacks (37) and Jonny Bairstow (21), Buttler guided England to a total of 183-7, even as the middle order faltered before Jofra Archer’s late contributions.

Pakistan’s innings started poorly, with Mohammad Rizwan dismissed for a duck in the first over by Moeen Ali, followed by Saim Ayub’s departure, leaving Pakistan struggling at 14-2.

Despite Fakhar Zaman and captain Babar Azam’s efforts, Pakistan lost momentum, and eventually, Zaman’s dismissal for 45 off 21 balls left them at 100-6.

Although Iftikhar Ahmed (23) and Imad Wasim (22) resisted, Pakistan fell short of the target, being dismissed for 160.

England’s Archer, returning from injury, took crucial wickets, including Azam Khan and Wasim.

The series opener was washed out, with two more matches scheduled before England heads to the United States and West Indies for the T20 World Cup.
