Express Entertainment to bring a star-studded horror telefilm next week

Express Entertainment is perhaps the only Pakistani entertainment channel which has kept the telefilm culture intact. Every once in a while, the channel takes a step back from commercialism to produce an artistic telefilm that presents a unique storyline, the kind which is not in vogue these days.

In the coming week as well, the channel is bringing a piece of work in the much neglected and sidelined medium. Titled as Khauf, this dramatic project will have horror as its genre. Khauf promises a spectacular cast with the likes of Churails fame Mehr Bano, the ever-green Javed Sheikh and the creative Shamoon Abbasi accompanied by Fahad Sheikh, Kasim Khan, Areeba Habib, Asfand Yar, Aiman Zaman and Ali Josh.

While talking to Minute Mirror, Shamoon Abbasi, who happens to be playing a significant role in the telefilm stated, “It’s a murder mystery, to be precise.”

Abbasi, who ever since the inception of web-based content, has started avoiding the commercial medium which television has become, also talked about his decision to be a part of Khauf.

“The moment they asked me if I wish to be on board, I agreed. I have a predilection for genres of horror, mystery and suspense. Besides, it’s always a pleasure working for Eveready Pictures’s projects, as it’s the most reliable and efficient production house I have ever come across. However, as far as the director is concerned, it’s for the first time that I am working with Rao Ayaz Shahzad, but I must say that he is an excellent director with complete command over what he does on the sets. His calmness makes him a wonderful person to work with.”

Khauf has been written by Irfan Mughal and is set to go on air on the 25th of October, Monday, at 8 pm.
