An official farewell Guard of Honor was accorded to outgoing President Dr. Arif Alvi at the President House in Islamabad.
As Dr. Arif Alvi’s tenure as President of the country draws to a close, a ceremonial Guard of Honor was held in recognition of his service at the President’s House.
Presidential elections are scheduled to take place in the country on March 9, which is tomorrow. Asif Ali Zardari is the presidential candidate representing the government coalition.
In addition, the opposition Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) is endorsing Mahmood Khan Achakzai as their presidential candidate, who leads the Pashtun Khawa Map.
It’s important to note that President Arif Alvi’s five-year constitutional term concluded on September 8, 2023.
During the interim period in the country, Dr. Arif Alvi continued to fulfill the responsibilities of the President of Pakistan.
According to the constitution, the President is permitted to remain in office for one month following the election.
