The mishap occurred when a bus collided with a truck in an attempt to avoid a trolley rickshaw. The collision led to a catastrophic chain of events resulting in the truck catching fire, leading to the immediate loss of five lives while injuring ten others.
Swiftly responding to the distress call, the Rescue 1122 Bahawalpur team along with firefighters rushed to the accident site, commencing a prompt and rigorous rescue operation. Their efforts focused on controlling the raging inferno and swiftly evacuating the injured to Bahawal Victoria Hospital in Bahawalpur for urgent medical attention.
