FIA takes control of factory producing counterfeit veterinary drugs

On Wednesday, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) took possession of a facility suspected of manufacturing fake veterinary drugs and confiscated spurious and unregistered medications valued at millions of rupees.

Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with the illicit operation.

The FIA received intelligence indicating the involvement of certain individuals in the production of counterfeit animal medications.

Acting on this information, a team led by Deputy Director of the Anti-Corruption Circle (ACC), Mian Muhammad Sabir, intercepted a vehicle and discovered a substantial quantity of drugs during a search.

Drug Inspector Ramiz Khan, who provided technical support during the operation, verified that the drugs were substandard and fraudulent veterinary medicines.

The driver of the vehicle identified the suspects as Muhammad Waqar, son of Abdul Sattar, and Muhammad Nauman, son of Muhammad Siddique, leading to their subsequent arrest.

Based on the information provided by the detained individuals, the FIA conducted a raid on a factory situated in the Islamia Park area of Johar Town. The raiding team confiscated machinery, raw materials used in drug production, and a considerable quantity of finished products.

According to Mian Sabir, the head of the team, the accused were found to be manufacturing more than 19 types of fake medicines, falsely labeled under the names of multinational companies.
