Flour price drops by Rs10-20 in Islamabad

People in Islamabad are starting to see the benefits of a reduction in flour prices. The cost of flour has dropped by Rs10-20 per kilogram, providing some relief.

Market sources indicate that the price of a 10kg bag of flour fell from Rs1,470 to Rs1,200. That’s a decrease of Rs270.

A 15kg bag of flour now costs Rs1,650, down from Rs2,250. This means a saving of Rs600. The price of a 20kg bag of flour also dropped, going from Rs2,880 to Rs2,250, a reduction of Rs630.

Bread prices have also decreased. A small loaf, previously priced at Rs120, now costs Rs110. Large loaves, which used to be Rs240, are now priced at Rs230 or Rs220.

Additionally, first-grade chakki flour now costs Rs160 per kilogram, down from Rs170. Second-grade flour dropped from Rs160 to Rs150 per kilogram. In the suburbs of Islamabad, chakki flour is now Rs140 per kilogram, compared to Rs150 before.

In Lahore, the price of a 20kg flour bag dropped by Rs800 over a few days. The cost went from Rs2,800 to Rs2,000, offering significant savings to consumers.
