Indian Security officers in Jammu have killed four unidentified males who were travelling in a truck toward Indian-controlled Kashmir after allegedly crossing into India.

A police officer from the Sidhra area confirmed it while terming it a major success head of Republic day.

Additional director general of police (ADGP) of Jammu Mukesh Singh said, “Four terrorists have been killed in the encounter in Sidhra area in Jammu. Seven AK-47 rifles, one M4 rifle, three pistols along with other ammunition were recovered.”

ADGP further added that the identity of the truck owner is still unknown. The truck was travelling from Jammu to Srinagar and the region is still being searched.

He stated that the truck was headed for Kashmir. It was pursued and halted close to the Sidhra checkpoint, but the driver escaped under the excuse that he had to use the restroom.

According to early accounts, the driver reportedly fled the scene, and terrorists hiding nearby fired on the security officers, sparking a combative exchange.

“The identity and group affiliation of the terrorists is awaited,” the ADGP said.
