California: Video communication service Google Meet is gearing up to introduce several customization features for its web and mobile users.

Last week, Google announced that it would unveil three new features for the service allowing users to tailor their Google Meet experience according to their preferences.

The first feature enables users to merge various video effects enhancing the background with filter effects for a more dynamic presentation. A new Self View Tile layer icon is introduced in this feature allowing users to see which effects are in use and easily remove individual effects or all effects at once.

The Video Effects Merge feature comes with a user-friendly interface for discovering and applying new effects making it convenient for users to explore and use the effects.

In the second feature, Studio Lighting is introduced but this feature is exclusively available for web users. It includes Google Workspace Enterprise editions and Google Workspace Enterprise Plus users will have access to Google Workspaces Enterprise Plus. This feature allows users to adjust studio-standard lighting settings, brightness and colour for an improved visual experience.

The third and final feature, ‘Studio Sound’ is currently available on the web version and will be introduced on the mobile version in the coming weeks. This feature utilizes artificial intelligence to enhance audio quality automatically improving the sound from both the headset and external participants minimizing background noise.

Google Meet’s IOS and Android users can expect these features to be available within the next two weeks while web users will have access to all features by the end of this month. As Google Meet continues to evolve, these new features underscore the platform’s commitment to providing users with a more personalized and enriched communication experience.
