Hammad Azhar returns, vows to lead PTI in Punjab

Hammad Azhar, a key figure in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), emerged on Wednesday after staying hidden for months. He wants to lead PTI in Punjab.

Azhar showed up at PTI Central Secretariat in Islamabad. He said Imran Khan asked him to lead.

Azhar trusts Punjab’s courts. He wants to fight his legal battles there after getting bail from Peshawar High Court.

He wants the Chief Justice of Pakistan to act against what he calls a “fascist system” before retiring. He thinks this would make a strong legacy.

Azhar condemned the attack on PTI’s Raoof Hasan. PTI leaders encouraged him to come out of hiding and join politics actively.

Police came to catch Hamad Azhar at the secretariat, but he had already left for Peshawar. They asked the staff, but they didn’t know where he went.

Hamad Azhar’s surprise visit to the secretariat caused the police to come. It was shown on TV.
