Heatwave likely around Pakistan including Sindh, Punjab

The fear of a heatwave continues to loom over various regions of the country, notably affecting Sindh and Punjab.

In Nawabshah today, temperatures are expected to soar to a scorching 51 degrees Celsius, while in Sukkur, residents will endure 49 degrees. Multan is also facing extreme heat, with the mercury anticipated to reach 47 degrees.

Lahore’s populace will have to cope with 45 degrees, whereas in Islamabad, temperatures are forecasted to hit 42 degrees. Peshawar residents will experience 44 degrees today.

In Karachi, although the actual temperature will be 38 degrees, it will feel more like 43 degrees due to humidity and other factors. Gilgit will see temperatures rise to 38 degrees, and in Muzaffarabad, the mercury is likely to climb to 41 degrees.

Additionally, Hyderabad is grappling with a severe heatwave. In response, authorities have implemented various measures to provide relief to the public. These include the distribution of free drinks, umbrellas, and headscarves, as well as spraying water from fire brigade vehicles to cool down the streets and provide some respite from the intense heat.
